| View in browser Hi Friend,    Welcome to the Q3 edition of Further. In this edition: Q3 in Review Thomas Carrig's 24-Hour, 580 km Challenge  What It Really Costs to Go Further  Updates From the Field  Quarter in Review: Further, Together. Our annual WBR Ride returned on July 3: a scenic ride through Hockley Valley, capped off with a celebration raising over $200,000 to get bikes into the hands of more students, healthcare workers, and entrepreneurs. We were proud to be a charity partner for the Tour de Victoria on August 15, with riders raising $1,300 for World Bicycle Relief! We launched two new bikes, the Buffalo One and Buffalo Pro, built on more than 20 years of rider feedback, testing, and refinement. Explore the all new Buffalo Bicycles here.   For event recaps, campaign highlights, and regular updates, follow @worldbicyclereliefcanada on Instagram.  FOLLOW WBR CANADA Thomas Carrig's 24-Hour, 580 km Challenge For Thomas Carrig, cycling started as a way to explore Norway on a bikepacking trip. But somewhere along the way, it became something much bigger.   "I've slowly fallen in love over the last few years, and it's become such a massive part of my life," he says. Since that first trip, he's taken on several more bikepacking adventures, always chasing the same question: how much ground can he cover in a single day?   Based in Banff for the last two years, Thomas has come to know one of the most beautiful stretches of road in the country, the route to Jasper. On September 24, he turned that familiar road into his biggest challenge yet: attempting a 580 kilometre ride from Banff to Jasper and back in a single day.    Twenty one hours in, Thomas had covered an impressive 471 km, riding through the night and into the sunrise. That's when sleep deprivation caught up with him. Knowing his limits, he made the call to stop rather than push his body past the point of riding safely.   471 km through the night is a feat on its own, and it's not even why Thomas was out there in the first place. He first learned about World Bicycle Relief through cyclist Lachlan Morton's rides, and the mission stuck with him ever since.   "I honestly can't think of a more fitting cause," he says. "The idea that cycling changed my life, and through WBR I can play a part in giving other people that same opportunity. It's the best!"   Inspired by Thomas' ride? Help him reach his goal of funding 10 bikes for World Bicycle Relief. HELP THOMAS FUND 10 BIKES What It Really Costs to Go Further Next time you make a gift, you'll notice a number has changed. The cost of mobilizing one rider with a Buffalo Bicycle is rising to $255.   That number isn't just about the bike coming off the line. It's the full cost of getting a purpose-built bicycle into someone's hands and keeping it there.   We trust you understand. The reality is that costs are rising everywhere and we are not immune. While the actual cost varies from country to country, $255 better reflects the current reality of putting a Buffalo Bicycle into the hands of someone who needs it. SEE HOW YOUR GIFT CREATES LASTING IMPACT Updates From the Field Across our countries of operation, we are focused on building the ecosystem that keeps bikes on the road for years to come: trained mechanics, local outlets, and reliable access to parts. Here's what that looks like this quarter:    🇰🇪 Kenya Training mechanics and expanding outlets to keep all 100,000 Buffalo Bicycles across Kenya on the road.      🇺🇬 Uganda Working toward 200 trained mechanics by the end of 2026, plus a new Buffalo shop opening in Koboko to serve riders in the Bibibi refugee settlement.    🇿🇲 Zambia Adding 200 new outlets to our existing 230 by year end, creating local jobs, strengthening businesses, and keeping parts and service within reach long after a bike is distributed. In tough times, a Buffalo Bicycle is more than a ride. It's a game changer that turns hours of walking into time for school, work and family. Our year end campaign is coming soon. Stay tuned! Thank you for staying connected to this work.
